  • News and Links – January 23, 2026

Here is a collection of miscellaneous news articles, blog posts, and other web content I’m reading (or planning to) today, Friday, January 23, 2026:

“I was banned from Claude for scaffolding a CLAUDE.md file”

[For NERDS only!] This is a blog post from a software developer who was suddenly banned from using an AI tool (Claude) with no warning or explanation. He believes the ban happened because the AI tool’s automated safety systems misidentified what he was doing as dangerous or malicious. It wasn’t. This is relevant because it shows how people can lose access to important data and digital tools due to automated decisions they don’t understand and can’t easily appeal, which is more worrying each day as increasing amounts of everyday work depends on AI-powered and/or web-based services.

“Why Headlights Went From Warm And Yellow To Retina-Searing White”

An article from Jalopnik explaining how car headlights evolved from old, dim yellow sealed-beam bulbs to today’s extremely bright white light sources like halogen, xenon, and LED headlights and why that matters for drivers. Each new advance in technology made headlights brighter and whiter to improve nighttime visibility, but also increased glare that can be uncomfortable or dangerous for other drivers. The article also mentions safety standards and how headlight design has become a sort of “arms race” between better illumination and managing glare —- overall a relevant read for anyone concerned about driving safety and the technology in modern cars.

  • Under construction!

Hello to anyone reading this. My website is under construction.

I am slowly building a WordPress installation to my liking, trying out different themes and plugins and modifying things to look and function the way I want. I’ll be building the site, uploading some old content belonging to websites and projects from the past, and doing some new writing when I have the time.

I also plan to use this site to share links, articles, and other interesting content from around the web that is relevant to current news or projects/topics i’m working on in the moment.

Any and all feedback is welcome. I love learning new things and getting tips on how to improve anything I’m working on. I also really enjoy being turned on to new topics or subjects to research and learn about. Aside from all things technology, I enjoy studying the Bible and Christianity (especially the early Church and the Book of Acts), history (especially post-World-War-I military and political history), politics and news/ current events, music and television and pop-culture, cars, and dogs.

The intention is for commenting to be allowed/enabled on all posts or articles (like this one) written by me, and disabled on static pages. No guestbook or message boards/forums are planned for install at this time. Most of my social media profiles are private or friend-only (aside from LinkedIn). I can be reached via email through steven AT stevenkudelko DOT com. I am available for encrypted messaging over Telegram. Send an email with your user name or phone number and I’ll be in touch.
